Each month there will be a synopsis of a book on the science of longevity, if you find this helpful, I encourage you to purchase the book for your collection.
I have read (through many sources) that one of the major factors in age-related decline is loss of muscle mass. How does protein restriction fit with that?
Keep in mind that Sinclair's book was written in 2018, a little ahead of the current trend of protein; he is coming from molecular biology - studying how specific cells and organs are affected by aging. The only thing that occurs to me about any possible benefits from pro restriction has to due with the stress on the system. When strength training, pro is a requirement to promote the repair process, I would argue that any pro restriction should be on a fast with minimal physical activity.
