Introducing American Barbell

As the Strength Training for Longevity community grows, the plan is to work with companies that support the mission. American Barbell makes some of the best strength equipment in the biz!

Relationships

Phil Patti is the founder and owner of American Barbell; he’s one of the true OGs of the commercial fitness industry, he has a great team that makes even better products.

The commercial fitness industry is based on relationships. As someone who has been creating education for personal trainers since before YouTube was a thing (early '00’s), I’ve had the honor of working with and creating content for some of the top brands.

The vision for Strength Training for Longevity is to create a resource where we can all learn how to use strength training and high-intensity exercise to extend our health spans and longevity. Phil, the owner of American Barbell, and I met many years ago when I was working for a certification organization (the American Council on Exercise), we’ve stayed in touch over the years. When we spoke at an industry event in March, I told him about what I’m doing in the longevity space and he eagerly jumped on board to offer his assistance.

As this community is growing, one goal is to refer you to the best products for strength training. American Barbell has been making equipment for years (they actually make equipment for other brands - many of whom you’d recognize) and is serious about making high performing equipment.

Ageless Intensity: High Intensity Workouts to Slow the Aging Process was written to show how exercise can mitigate the effects of aging. Phil and his team graciously agree to help me film the workouts from the book so I can share them, on this and my YouTube channel: Strength Training for Longevity .

There are 12 workouts in Ageless, thanks to the team at AB, we shot them, and they’ll be on my youtube channel soon…

It was an honor to spend a day at their training facility in Las Vegas filming all 12 workouts from the book, along with a bunch of other bits of info that I’ll be sharing in the coming months. In addition, Phil and I recorded an episode for his pod that will be shared when it's released.

In the effort to supply you with the best resources for extending longevity, I’m working on establishing relationships with other resources that are all working towards the same goal:

Helping us grow muscle to improve our health.

For example, I’ve recently joined a newly formed group called Make America Strong Again - it’s a collaboration of health club owners and operators who want to work together to promote the health benefits of strength training - you’ll be seeing more about them in the not-too-distant future.

Content, Content and more Content

As I learn this platform and YouTube, the plan is to produce more videos and get back to doing interviews - like I used to do on the All About Fitness podcast - to provide you with the latest, EVIDENCE-BASED information on how exercise can extend longevity.

Thanks for joining the community, let’s all together to become the fittest, healthiest versions of ourselves!

One of the best parts of a shoot: the selfie at the end! One of my services is producing and directing fitness photo and video shoots, as much fun as they are to plan and shoot, the finishing shot is always the highlight!
